Length: Grows up to about 30" (Male), 38" (Female) long.
Foods: Port Jackson Sharks generally feed at night. They have strong jaws equipped with plate-like teeth for crushing invertebrates and bivalve molluscs, such as clams and mussels.
Reef Compatibility: Not Reef Safe.
Water Condtions: Temp. 65-76F. Salinity 27-31ppt or 1.020-1.023 sg; pH 8.1-8.4. Does not fare well with fluctuations in temperature,salinity and pH.
Special Needs: Needs a fairly large tank, strong filtration.
A Protein Skimmer is recommended due to all the waste this fish gives off, a schooling shark and can be kept with other sharks. It's named after Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour) .
The Port Jackson Shark occurs in southern Australian waters from southern Queensland south to Tasmania and west to the central coast of Western Australia.
